Questions
I own the Class A Core Pack. Do I need this?
Only if you want more air brakes practice. The Core Pack already has air brakes questions and mocks. The Drill adds more questions on air brakes alone, the brake-check sequence and a cheat sheet.
What do I get, and in what format?
Questions run in your browser and track your progress. The brake-check sequence is in your study area, and the cheat sheet is a PDF you can print.
Is this CDL training?
No. It is knowledge-test practice, not Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT). FMCSA's ELDT rules apply to anyone getting a Class A or Class B CDL for the first time, upgrading from Class B to Class A, or getting a school bus, passenger or hazmat endorsement for the first time. That training comes from a registered training provider. Who needs ELDT, on fmcsa.dot.gov.
Is the test the same in every state?
No. Each state gives its own knowledge tests. Our mocks follow the lengths and pass marks Washington publishes, and the topics come from state CDL manuals. Check your own state's manual and licensing office for its format.
How long do I keep access?
12 months of online access. The PDFs you download are yours to keep.
Which devices does it work on?
Any phone, tablet or computer with an up-to-date browser. Your progress follows your account.
Is it in the app too?
No. The pack works in the web browser on any phone, tablet or computer, so there's nothing to install.
Can I get a refund?
Every pack is digital and opens the moment you pay, so we don't refund a change of mind. If something doesn't work because of a problem on our side and we can't fix it, we refund you. Refunds never depend on your test result. How refunds work.
Is this official?
No. Prepanchor is a private company, not affiliated with FMCSA, any state DMV or any other licensing agency. We write our own questions. Explanations are based on state CDL manuals, in our own words.
Free from licensing agencies
Your state's commercial driver manual is free, and the knowledge tests come from it. Washington's is linked here as an example: get the one from your own state. FMCSA explains who needs ELDT.
