Why are wind and hydroelectric power classified as indirect forms of solar energy?
The question asks why wind and hydro energy originate indirectly from the Sun. The Sun unevenly heats Earth's surface, creating atmospheric temperature and pressure differences that drive wind. Solar heat also evaporates ocean water, powering the hydrologic cycle that produces precipitation and river flow used in hydroelectric dams.
