NCLEX-PN · United States

Study for the NCLEX-PN, built on the PN test plan.

The NCLEX-PN is the licensing exam for practical and vocational nurses (LPN/VN). It has its own test plan, where Coordinated Care is the largest area. Our packs follow that plan, as a study aid and recall practice, and every question is signed off by a registered nurse before it goes live.

Questions

Is this official?

No. Prepanchor is an independent publisher, not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), which develops the NCLEX. We write our own questions and case studies.

Who checks the questions?

Every question is reviewed and signed off by a registered nurse before it goes live. Questions and explanations are written for exam study and recall practice, at the level of the PN test plan.

How is this different from your RN packs?

The PN exam has its own test plan. Coordinated Care replaces Management of Care, Pharmacological Therapies replaces Pharmacological and Parenteral Therapies, and the weights differ. Our PN questions are tagged and weighted to the PN plan, and prioritization questions stay within the practical nurse role.

Can I use this on the job?

No. It's a study aid for the exam and for recall practice, not clinical guidance. On the unit, follow your program's and facility's protocols and your state's PN scope of practice.

Which lab ranges do you use?

Lab values in our packs are commonly taught ranges; your program's ranges may vary. Always use the ranges your program and facility give you.

Are the practice exams like the real test?

They are fixed 85-item practice exams with a 5-hour limit and case studies. The real exam runs 85 to 150 items and adapts to you; ours do not, and we never claim they work the same way. How the real exam works, on nclex.com.

How much does the NCLEX cost?

NCSBN charges a $200 registration fee in the United States. For registrations made on or after 1 February 2027 it rises to $350. The fee goes to NCSBN, not to us. Source: nclex.com fees and payment and NCSBN fee notice, checked 26 October 2026.

Can I buy just one part?

Yes. Each pack covers one part of the exam. If you buy the bundle later, the price of a pack you already own comes off at checkout.

I am taking the NCLEX-RN. Is this for me?

No. The RN exam has a different test plan: NCLEX-RN study packs.
